Hello Pink Gems!
The color pink represents caring, compassion, and love. It’s a happy color that represents hope and the color of very rare diamonds. Perhaps this is why, as I was planning a women's ministry and seeking God for a name, I heard God's quiet voice in my heart say, “MY PINK GEMS.” Then, I felt led to write an acronym for it. So today I'm going to share with you what I feel God has put on my heart for His women.
P is for Precious. Women are precious to God! Like gems, we are all unique with individual gifts and talents. Proverbs says that a woman of virtue (strong, capable, and wise) is to be compared with priceless jewels and is a treasure to whoever finds her. An excellent wife who can be found? She is more precious than jewels. Proverbs 31:10 ESV
I is for Inspiring. Women have been an inspiration to men throughout history...in the Bible, Abigail, a woman of good sense, inspired David before he was King to do the noble thing. (I Samuel 25:3) Deborah which means, spirited or fiery woman, inspired the warriors of Israel to fight their enemies and not give up, which brought them great victory! (Judges 4:4-11) Let's be honest, women can bring out the best in men!
N is for Nurturing. Women love to nurture, and we are really good at it! It means to feed, protect, support, encourage, to bring up, train, and educate.
When a house is dull and unappealing, they say it needs a woman’s touch. Like Mary Poppins, we can bring life to a home and make it special. Look at how many movies have been made about the lack of a women’s presence and the difference it makes once she arrives. We like to celebrate life and we are life givers.
K is for Kind. The world needs kind women who are sensitive to people's needs, not a diva. They need a smile, a compliment, or an encouraging word. If someone needs a hug and a kind word, be quick to give it. When someone is in need, take the time to call or drop in to check on them. If every woman acted on the thoughts she has daily to reach out to someone, the world would be a better place.
G is for Growing in Godliness. When you choose to love God, you make a decision to walk God's path and follow His instructions for your life. As you grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding you will find principles for a successful life! By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3 ESV
E is for Empowered. You are as powerful as God’s women! As you grow in the knowledge of Him and walk in the wisdom He imparts to you, it will make a difference in your life and in the lives of others. As you enter the ever changing seasons of your life you will be equipped with the skills you need to live a passionate life filled with hope. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14
M is for Motivated. When women follow God they can make a great impact! You can bring the Kingdom of God down to the earth as you pray God’s will for a certain situation, loved one, friend, or stranger who needs encouragement. Also, you can receive strength and direction for your life, causing you to bear fruit like Jesus talked about.
S is for Spirit Led. What does it mean to be led by the spirit? Ladies, you can save a lot of time when you take a few minutes to pray before you say “yes” to something. There are many choices vying for your time today, but you don’t need to do all of them. Pay attention to the still small voice and it will make a difference in your day to day life. You will be less stressed as you yield to His leading. My sheep hear my voice...and they follow me. John 10:27 ESV
Just like valuable GEMS you are rare and beautiful, precious to God, and have a special purpose...shine with radiance for Jesus, who He affectionately calls, My Pink Gems!
